Job Summary

The Computer Maintenance Technician assists in the repair and maintenance of college and personally owned computers, printers and other technology products.

Responsibilities

• Manually examine and repair computer hardware and peripheral components.
• Test functionality and assess problems.
• Take apart and re-assemble computer components and parts.
• Use small handheld tools such as screwdrivers, voltmeters, etc.
• Manually set up computer systems and hardware, and install or re-install software programs.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance on equipment.
• Work with colleagues (e.g., other computer repair and maintenance technicians) to resolve computer-related problems (troubleshooting).
• Read and review technical support manuals or other materials.
• Other similar duties as required.

Qualifications

• Excellent customer services skills
• Experience with computer use and diagnosis, take apart experience preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Critical analysis, problem solving and organizational skills.
• Manual dexterity for working with small tools and parts.

Compensation

Starts at $8.30/hr, hourly rate increases with experience and ability.
