Job Summary

Now accepting applications for Spring 2018. Student fundraising assistants make solicitation phone calls to alumni and parents on behalf of the Oberlin Annual Fund.

You must be comfortable asking alumni for money to work as a fundraising assistant.

Shifts take place 7-10pm Monday-Thursday and 1-4pm and 4-7pm on Sunday.
Students are required to work at least two shifts per week.

Responsibilities

-Using phoning software, call alumni, family, and friends of Oberlin College and Conservatory to solicit gifts and thank donors
-Discreetly handle highly confidential donor information
-Accurately update contact information
-Respond to questions or requests from donors
-Write thank you notes to donors
-Maintain the highest standards of quality, courtesy, tact, discretion, and customer service in all interactions.
-Support on-campus philanthropy events/programs

Qualifications

Good communication skills and the ability to speak with alumni and parents are required.

Some prior knowledge of basic navigation of the Internet and basic computer programs; i.e. Word, Excel, shared Google documents

Comfortable soliciting for donations and speaking on the behalf of Oberlin College and Conservatory.

All new employees will be trained on the proper calling technique and how to use the calling software.

Compensation

Starting pay rate is $8.60 per hour.
