Job Summary

Media Associate/Peer Consultant positions are available for students with such media skills as audio, video, photography, interactive media, web and application coding, or 3d printing . The successful candidate will be available between 6-10 hours per week to provide drop-in assistance at Media Center/Peer Consultant area (Mudd Library 1F), to develop and deliver media workshops, and to assist faculty. Punctuality, leadership, work ethic, and approachability are required. The successful candidate will feel confident in mentoring and in teaching workshops on one or more media topics and will have set goals for broadening their media skill set or investigating further their areas of expertise.

Responsibilities

Staff the Peer Consultant/Media Center by helping visitors with varying media projects, create 1-2 workshops, and support faculty by assisting with media assignments in courses. Some media associates may do more of one than the others depending on skills, team needs, and interests.

Qualifications

Students with interest and skills to support the media projects of faculty, staff, and students. The following are examples.

Software:
Adobe Creative Cloud
Max / MSP / Jitter, Processing, Sketchup
ProTools, Reaper, Audacity, Live
Unity, Blender, Sculptris
Isadora, Madmaqpper, etc.

Hardware:
Video Cameras
Sound Recording
Lighting for stage, film, or still photography
Projectors

Other skills are also welcome.

$9.50/hour
