Job Summary

The Community Outreach/Program Associate (COPA) leads vibrant communities programming in relation to the mission of the MRC.

Responsibilities

Act as a liaison between student organizations and program coordinators at the MRC
Serve on MRC Program Advisory Board
Serve as a programming expert and assist students/student organizations with their programming efforts
Facilitate the planning and implementation of the annual Colors of Rhythm showcase, as well as the Immigration Action NOW! Series, in collaboration with interested student organizations
Support student organizations and MRC staff in their publicity by coordinating student volunteers to publicize (place posters on campus, post on social media, etc.)

Qualifications

Expectations:

This job position is a two semester term appointment
Associates must work between 5-6.5 hours per week
Possible night and weekend hours
Must attend onboarding orientation on Sunday, September 17th, 2017

The COPA is required to work in collaboration with the MRC Coordinators. The applicant must be a 2nd, 3rd, 4th, or 5th year student. This person can work well collaboratively. They must also have a working knowledge on the various forms of oppression, including but not limited to: race, gender, sexuality, ability, class, citizenship, etc

Must be free to have a shift at the MRC on one weekday between 5-8pm to keep building hours extended
Associates are expected to work two shifts. One shift being 3 hours and another being 3.5
